TUNE

Ok so I’ve gotten a bit behind on the blog updates, I’ll try to get back up to date,

So with a drift practice day coming up I decided that I would take the car down to STM (speedtech) for a couple of inspection run on their dyno just to see where it was at, And it was bad, It only put out 160kw and the tune was all over the place, We couldn’t leave it like this so the car was rebooked the following week (The week before the event)  for a full tune, I was very happy with the service i received from the guys at STM, With daily update on where they were at with the car was a great piece of mine, I ended up picking the car up two days before the event with an extra 52kw, Very happy but no time for a test drive so I would have to wait till the first time I hit the sweeper at Manfeild to see how it would go.   Event post to come…

FAMILY WAGON

A couple of months back we made a spur of the moment decision to trade the old and getting tired Falcon in on something newer and with less km’s on the clock, It didn’t take long before we stumbled upon this, M35 VQ35 powered Nissan Stagea that had just been imported in to the country it hadn’t even made it on to the yard yet, It came in fitted with a set of Tein adjustable coilovers and the guards had already been rolled nicely for wide wheels, The car yard also certified it for the coilovers because it was cheaper than sourcing factory suspension for it, That pretty much sold it for me, We then picked out a set of Varrstoen Es2 wheels measuring 18×9.5 +12 all round with 235,40,18 tyres

 

 

CHEAP MODS

Long time no post, So I havent been up to much as of late as far as events go, Its been all about the Cheap mods,

I noticed one of my Power steer hoses was looking pretty bad so I headed off to pickapart, I came back with some long pieces of PS hose, This nice little PS /Trans cooler, not to big, but better than nothing, And the plastic reservoir just because, it turns out the mounting bracket moves the reservoir further away from the turbo, All that for $30  WIN

I replaced some more Exhaust gaskets to try to eliminate leaks, And got some luxury Sports Subframe lock collars to stiffen up those 200 000km old Subframe bushes, This has made quit a lot of difference cant wait to try it out on the track.

The car has been running really well lately with no real problems, The car still needs to be run on the dyno to check the tune after the ECU mods, I might look in to this very soon as I can smell a drift day on the horizon.

UPDATE

So update time, Since the last event I’ve been lucky enough to spend a little bit of money on the car to make it go better instead of having to fix something,

So on a budget ive scored a set of subaru sti 440cc injectors, sard fuel pressure reg,  A copy z32 AFM but is ment to the better of the copys, And I sent my ecu to Andy at Xtune he chipped it and loaded a tune on from another car with the same mods, Im planing on running it up on the dyno in the next couple of weeks but for now this tune is probably better than it has been.

The first round of D1NZ is on this weekend at Manfield Motorsport Park in Fielding that’s an 2 hour trip from here, So im looking forward to driving this up there on a couple of day trips, I cant wait to do some kilometers in it, The Warrent of Fitness is due this week and I noticed that its only done 540 km since the last one and most of that would have been on the track,
